When life is racing full-speed ahead, so is your mind and our nervous system takes a beating. We can end up feeling easily overwhelmed, tired and burnt out.
So what is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative yoga classes are relaxing and slow paced, with a whole sequence using as few as five or six postures which are held for long periods of time. Props, such as bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps used to allow the body to be in the most comfortable, supported position possible.

Modern day stressful living means that for most of us our sympathetic nervous system (fight to flight) is constantly firing without any real opportunity of quieting – we are constantly in a state of flight or fight. Restorative Yoga is a perfect antidote. With it’s emphasis on deliberately slowing down and optimal comfort and ease, the practice activates the parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for resting and digesting, restoring easy breathing, lowering blood pressure and heart rates, relaxing tension, and bringing greater balance.
